Loura van der Meule

Member of the 2019 and 2020 Art Fair 14C Juried Show

Loura van der Meule lives and works in Jersey City, but she is a native of the Netherlands.

She works mostly with oil pastel, acrylic and graphite on paper. In her recent work she pays homage to the architecture of old industrial buildings.

Her work has been exhibited in museums and galleries in the New York area and the Netherlands.

Loura graduated from the Academy of the Visual Arts “Sint Joost” in Breda and the School for Design and Decor “NIMETO” in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

The Powerhouse – an homage to an iconic building in downtown Jersey City, and a reminder of the early railroading across the Hudson river, built in a Romanesque Revival style. Famous for its beautiful brickwork and the huge arched windows.
