Call for Curators

Now accepting curatorial proposals for visual art exhibitions during JCAST (October 13-15, 2023).

Submission deadline: June 23, 2023

There will be a minimum of four community exhibition spaces in downtown Jersey City, each between 1000 and 2500 square feet.

Confirmed locations: Art150 Main Gallery, Brunswick Center, Newport Centre.

We are seeking distinct themes for each group show.  Shows must have public calls for art, but can be specialized in medium or category of artist (ie abstraction or textile only; work by veteran or active duty military artists only).

Proposals must focus on visual artists, projects and themes that are innovative and engaging.  

note: Newport Centre, because of its location and 24-hour public access, can include only work that can be secured to a wall.  

Curator compensation will be between $1000 and $1800, comensurate with curation experience and scope of the exhibition.
