Fabricio Suárez is an artist from Uruguay working in Jersey City, NJ. His current studio practice can be described as Abstract Baroque, consisting of moody surrealist paintings that distort traditional European portraits and landscapes with spiritual elements of American savagery. 

Incorporating art history and the mystery of nature into his dramatic works, Fabricio depicts the bounty of his environments with an eerie and mysterious subtext. Employing his brushstrokes to act as “characters” to form a narrative within the landscape, his paintings are both beautiful and brutally severe. 

Fabricio Suárez received his BFA in Fine Arts and Illustration from the School of Visual Arts in NYC and has exhibited in galleries throughout the US. He has participated in residencies including ESKFF at Mana Contemporary, Jersey City and Artists Off-the-Grid in Red Feather Lakes, Colorado.
