Overview
Project 14C has taken over the former Alliance University athletic dormitory spaces to create a unique opportunity for artists of all disciplines.
The program is designed to help artists seeking to establish full-time careers in the arts by providing live-work space in the creative community of 150 Bay Street, in the heart of the Powerhouse Arts District in downtown Jersey City.
Residency program includes:
- Live-work space for a period of 1 year (with a limited number of 3-month residencies)
- Creative community with up to 100+ artists of all disciplines
- Mentorship
- Professional development assistance
- Opportunities to exhibit and perform
- Access to the cultural and economic opportunities of Jersey City and New York City
Although 14C has been primarily a visual arts organization since its beginning in 2018, the Project 14C program is open to artists in all creative categories. There is no requirement to produce or show work during the residency, the residency serves as an incubator for artists seeking professional advancement in the New York City area.
Timeline Project 14C has a “soft” opening of November 1, 2024 and formally launches February 1, 2025, with 10-20 artists moving in each month.
