The Project 14C program will offer up to 170 artists the opportunity to live and work in an innovative and creative incubator environment in Jersey City that is adjacent to the global arts capital of New York City.

Located in Jersey City’s Powerhouse Arts District, Project 14C is an incubator-style residential community offering subsidized short-term communal living spaces, along with programming and career development opportunities for emerging artists of all disciplines.

access and opportunity

Overview

Project 14C is taking over the former Alliance University athletic dormitory spaces to create a unique opportunity for artists of all disciplines.

The program is designed to help artists seeking to establish full-time careers in the arts by providing live-work space in the creative community of 150 Bay Street, in the heart of the Powerhouse Arts District in downtown Jersey City.

Residency program includes:

  • Live-work space for a period of 1 year (with a limited number of 3-month residencies)
  • Creative community with up to 170 artists of all disciplines
  • Mentorship
  • Professional development assistance
  • Opportunities to exhibit and perform
  • Access to the cultural and economic opportunities of Jersey City and New York City

Although 14C has been primarily a visual arts organization since its beginning in 2018, the Project 14C program is open to artists in all creative categories. There is no requirement to produce or show work during the residency, the residency serves as an incubator for artists seeking professional advancement in the New York City area.
