Programs & Mentorship

PROGRAMS

note: 2025 is the pilot year for Project 14C – mentoring and programs schedules are still in formation

All programs are open to artists of ALL disciplines – resident artists are encouraged to explore areas of creativity beyond their primary discipline

  • Weekly “brownbag” lunches with guest artists and arts professionals
  • Classes and projects in the 6th floor visual arts classrooms and maker spaces
  • Music lessons and use of in-house music recording studio
  • Literary arts programming, approximately 20 writing-centered events per month, including workshops and writing prompts
  • Field trips to locations in the NYC area
  • Exhibitions, performances and open studio events – the public will be invited into Project 14C for special events six to eight times a year, and artists can choose to participate in exhibitions or performances during those open events.
Mentorship

Project 14C mentors are artists, arts administrators, arts business executives, as well as professional development mentors. Project 14C believes that artists are also entrepreneurs and small businesses, and is working with companies that can help artists develop those real-world skill sets and tools.

There are three types of mentorship:

  • Mentor at Project 14C spends few hours for a single talk or workshop
  • Mentor at Project 14C visits for one or two days, providing one on one discussions/critiques with artists within a discipline
  • Mentor at Project 14C makes regular visits throughout the year to provide sustained guidance for artists within a discipline
